The Program

CircusLab, AcroSports’ Youth Performance Ensemble (ages 8 - 15), is an opportunity for pre-professional circus students to bring real-life performance experience to their circus practice, with the guidance and direction of coaches who lead by example and encourage young circus students to become leaders themselves.

The Youth Performance Ensemble is designed for the intermediate to advanced student who is ready to commit and implement the circus medium in performance. Skills learned in this program will allow them to delve deeper into their pursuit of the circus arts and create an original performance act for our bi-annual Youth Arts Showcase as well as our annual CircusLab show. In addition to choosing a circus discipline as their primary focus, members of CircusLab will develop a wide range of circus skills including acrobatics, hand balancing, partner acrobatics, contortion, character acting, stilt walking, and object manipulation. Participation is by audition only and requires a commitment to attend all classes, rehearsals, and performances.

AcroSports Youth Performance Ensemble

Do you dream of a career as a circus performer? Take your circus training to the next level and join our pre-professional, multi-disciplinary, Youth Performance Ensemble - CircusLab. The Youth Performance Ensemble is designed for the advanced student who is ready to commit and implement the circus medium in performance. Through the study of clown, physical comedy, improvisation, and character development, students will develop stage presence, confidence, and performance skills. These skills will allow them to delve deeper into their pursuit of the circus arts and create an original performance act for our bi-annual Youth Arts Showcase. In addition to choosing a circus discipline as their primary focus, members of the Youth Performance Ensemble will develop a wide range of circus skills including acrobatics, hand balancing, partner acrobatics, contortion, clown, stilt walking, and object manipulation. Participation is by audition or instructor recommendation only and requires a commitment to attend all classes, rehearsals, and performances.

Our Youth Performance Program includes a variety of circus classes that focus on developing performance skills -  including aerial, contortion, tumbling, partner acrobatics and clown. We believe that through performance, students receive positive reinforcement of their abilities, developing healthy self-esteem and a positive self image. Through circus training, we teach valuable life skills such as teamwork, focus, and persistence. Students in the Youth Performance Program will have opportunities to perform in our bi-annual in house shows.
