Registration for West Portal Offsite Program

Fall 2017 classes offered for West Portal Lutheran students (all classes begin the week of August 28th):

Breakdancing (Wednesdays 3:15-4:15)

This class will introduce students to the history of Hip-Hop culture with basic moves for the novice dancer. The style encompasses the movements of breakdancing and body-popping with a concentration on footwork. The focus of this class is to build a solid foundation to execute popular dance moves to original choreography. Warm up includes isolations, hard-hitting exercises, and a breakdown of the highly energetic routine to build stamina and increase strength.

Tumbling/Gymnastics (Wednesdays 4:30-5:30)

AcroSports’ energetic class introduces tumbling/gymnastics to students with a focus on coordination, flexibility and strength. AcroSports’ tumbling classes are designed to encourage students develop spatial awareness, balance and gross motor skills. Classes are delivered by experienced coaches using a range of USA Gymnastics approved equipment including panel mats, incline mat, crash mat, springboard, balance beam, and low bar.

Parkour (Thursdays 4:30-5:30)

Parkour is the sport of using the body for uninterrupted, efficient forward motion over, under, around and through the environment. AcroSports’ energetic class introduces parkour to students with a focus on coordination, flexibility and strength. AcroSports’ parkour classes are designed to encourage students develop spatial awareness, balance and gross motor skills. Classes are delivered by experienced coaches using a range of USA Gymnastics approved equipment including panel mats, incline mat, trapezoid mats, wooden plyometric boxes and skill blocks.
