CircusLab auditions

CircusLab, AcroSports’ Youth Performance Ensemble (ages 8 - 15), is an opportunity for pre-professional circus students to bring real-life performance experience to their circus practice, with the guidance and direction of coaches who lead by example and encourage young circus students to become leaders themselves.

The Youth Performance Ensemble is designed for the intermediate to advanced student who is ready to commit and implement the circus medium in performance. Through the study of clown, physical comedy, improvisation, and character development, students will develop stage presence, confidence, and performance skills. These skills will allow them to delve deeper into their pursuit of the circus arts and create an original performance act for our bi-annual Youth Arts Showcase. In addition to choosing a circus discipline as their primary focus, members of CircusLab will develop a wide range of circus skills including acrobatics, hand balancing, partner acrobatics, contortion, clown, stilt walking, and object manipulation. Participation is by audition only and requires a commitment to attend all classes, rehearsals, and performances.

Take your circus training to the next level and audition for AcroSports’ pre-professional Youth Performance Ensemble - CircusLab (ages 8-15).

We will hold two auditions for our 2017 - 2018 CircusLab ensemble at AcroSports. Interested youth need only attend one of the following dates:

Friday, May 26 4 - 7 PM Check-in at 3:45 PM (Materials due May 17)
Saturday, May 27 2 - 5 PM Check-in at 1:45 PM (Materials due May 17)

Children will be introduced to the various disciplines including tumbling, juggling, clowning, dance and aerial arts while also having the opportunity to engage in cooperative group games and free play. Campers also have the opportunity to perform what they’ve learned when our week culminates in a circus show on Friday afternoon presented for families and friends.
