Please help promote our Fall Staff and Student Cabaret!

Our Staff worked very hard to clean the gym over the intersession. PLEASE help us maintain this by cleaning up after yourself, putting equipment back every time, and throwing all your trash away. Basically, treat this place like a place of business and not your house :) Big props to Anthony for giving the staff room a much needed deep clean!!


Hello Coaches! Please remember that all adult classes will run as normal during the intersession, Aug 19-Sep 1. If you are looking for more hours over the break please email johnny@acrosports.org. We have several projects we would like to see done during this time.

Also, please be sure to read through the new Staff Use Gym Benefits on the main page. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.


Just a reminder that all coaches should be putting their bags in the staff room during their coaching hours. If you need a lock please come see me and we can supply you with one. We have been having a surge of students bringing their bags onto the floor during class. It is each of our responsibilities as coaches to remind students that water bottles and phones can be brought on the main floor, but no bags. Students are welcome to bring a lock with them and use our lockers downstairs. Please help us to reinforce this rule by being an example.


Just a reminder to please put ALL the equipment back after you are done with it. I've been coming across bands tied to the russian bars & parkour structure, KB's and DB's upstairs and downstairs, and yoga blocks all over the place. All of the equipment has a home. It is important for them to be returned to the correct place so anyone else wanting to use them has that opportunity. It is very frustrating to plan a class with specific equipment, then having to change that plan last minute because the equipment can't be found.


Our new monthly challenge is up: 'Jump Rope with a Twist' How many backward revolutions can you do in 60 seconds? PLEASE make sure to have your classes participate in this at least twice this month. Our class involvement was low for the month of June.


Hey Team! Three things:

1) It is important that our evening coaches put all the mats away, in their correct places, at the end of the day. We need to gym good to go for camp and classes the next morning. Please feel free to ask students to help you move mats.

2) We are cracking down on the budget. I need everyone to evaluate their timecards closely. The extra time for set up/tear down before and after class are not a given. If it only took you 5 mins please put 5 mins. If you didn't show up to coach until the start of class that needs to be the time you clock-in. Remember, 5-10 mins may not seem like a ton but if all staff members add even 5 minutes to each shift that they didn't work this can add up to thousands of dollars. If I feel there is a discrepancy on any timecards I will reach out to you before the time is approved.

3) Last but not least......I will be suffering in Maui for the upcoming week where Johnny and I will be celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Whoo Hoo! I will be reachable for EMERGENCIES ONLY. June Challenge: How many arch rocks can you complete in 60 seconds? Please be sure to do the challenge at least twice a month in each class.

The Adult Monthly Challenge for this month is how many straight leg sit-ups you can do in 60 seconds. Goodluck Adult Students!! Please make sure to record personal bests on our Adult Monthly Challenge board.


Adult classes will be running as normal over the Pre-K and Youth Spring Break!


This is just a reminder as we are nearing the end of the session: all Adult classes will be on during the pre-k/youth Interim week March 25-31. If you are planning on being out of town you will need to find subs for your Adult Classes.


Also The winner of this month’s Adult Monthly Challenge will receive two tickets to our Age of Rock Cabaret!

So coaches please help spread the word to our adult students and encourage them to write their name with their first initial or last name on our challenge board, so we can easily contact them. The winner will be announced on Monday, March 25th.


Hey Coaches, this is just a reminder that we have a 15 minute late policy for all classes in AcroSports. We have had some instances of coaches letting some students attend classes late, but turning other students away. This inconsistency is putting a strain on the frontdesk staff and making issues that the Management Team are having to sort out. PLEASE reinforce this late policy in each class with each student. If any student is upset you can send them to the office where the frontdesk staff can give them my contact information.

This is just a reminder that you have unlimited 'Staff Free Passes' to use to train in any class we have at AcroSports. These passes can not be used to hold your spot in any class. You can only use a 'Staff Free Pass' by checking in at the Frontdesk at the start of class and seeing if there is space available. If you have any questions please email me. Cheers! - Rachel

The monthly adult challenge for December is Burpees over the Gift! Adult students must put a foam block down on the ground and do a burpee while facing the foam block “gift” then jump over the foam block and do another burpee. The goal is to see how many of these they can do in one minute.

On Monday 11/19/2018 we will be implementing our new electronic check-in system. There are Ipads located at various locations around the gym: WMF, EMF, outside the Office, and the Outback. We will be getting an Ipad for downstairs in the near future.

All of these Ipads have the MindBody Check-in App on the Home Screens. It looks like this: 


I will be sending out an email to all of our Monthly Unlimited Students letting them know the check-in process. Students should be checking themselves in using the Ipad outside of the office. You as coaches need to check the app once the class has started to make sure every student has in fact signed up for class and checked themselves in. If there is a student on the floor that has not signed themselves in please direct them to the Ipad outside of the office and let them do it themselves. Please do not do it for them. We want the students to understand from the get-go that this is their responsibility.

There will be a note on the Ipad asking first time students to please check-in at the Frontdesk. These students will still collect a pass from the Frontdesk which they will then hand to the coach. This will let you know that this student is new to AcroSports.

If there is ever any question about whether or not a student is signed up for your class please have them go to the Frontdesk, where any issues can be solved. It's not your job as a coach to try and fix any issues on the floor. 

Also, the classes should 'disappear' on the Ipad 15 mins after the start of class, making it so that students can not show up late, sign in and come on the floor late. If for any reason a student comes on to the floor 15 mins or later for any class they are NOT TO BE ALLOWED INTO CLASS. This is not allowed for their safety. Again, as a coach, you explain to them that they are late and will not be able to attend class. If there is an issue send them to the Frontdesk where they can direct them to me.

I ask that we all be patient with this new transition. I'm sure there will be some 'teething pains' as we roll this new system out. Please help each other out by sticking firm to our policies ie. making the students sign themselves in and not letting students attend class when they show up late.

Thank you for all the coaches who have had their classes take part in the July Monthly Challenge. Our students had a blast. Our challenge for August is: drumroll please! How many revolutions can you do in 2 minutes with a Hula Hoop? Please set aside a few minutes in class (it can be during the warm-up) and encourage students to participate. Have fun with it! You can use any part of your body for the revolutions. Arms, waist, ankle, neck, etc

AERIAL COACHES: (this is for both youth and adult) Remember to check for zippers and jewelry on students (and coaches) before every aerial class. There is a roll of athletic tape, on the hook with the span sets, to be used to cover zippers.

Adult Staff and Student Cabaret this Friday and Saturday

Please be aware that we have a lot of adult students performing in our upcoming Cabaret THIS Friday and Saturday. If you have any performing students in any of your classes it would be nice to wish them luck or tell them how excited you are to see them perform. We also ask that you encourage other adult students to come support their peers and other coaches as they perform.
