GENERAL INFORMATION

What classes does AcroSports offer?
AcroSports offers classes in the physical, performance, and circus arts such as: tumbling, gymnastics, aerial arts, contortion, board sports, breakdancing, capoeira, parkour, etc.. See individual program pages for specific offerings, as class offerings and availability vary from session to session.

Where are you located?
Our street address is 639 Frederick St. between Arguello & Stanyan, across the street from Kezar stadium in San Francisco's Inner Sunset / Haight Ashbury District. There are two easily noticeable brick art-deco gymnasiums on the block, we are in the furthest east of the two. Map.

Is there parking?
Limited street parking is available, and there are also paid lots at Kezar Stadium (entrance on Stanyan street), and UC San Francisco (entrance at Irving and 3rd ave). We are also accessible from the 7, 71, and N Judah MUNI lines.

Do you offer off-site programs?
AcroSports’ “Mobile AcroSports Training (MAT)” van brings our physical programs out to schools or community facilities. Please contact the Offsite Manager, Toni Martinez, for more info.

How often do you have performances?
Semi-annual performances by City Circus generally occur in early December and mid-May. We also have a Recital Program in which performance-track students perform in a group recital at the end of every class session (we offer four sessions per year). Members of our performance troupe also periodically perform at community events like ZooFest and Family Fest in Golden Gate Park.

Do you rent equipment?
Some mats and other equipment are available for rent. Please contact Andre Yee to inquire about equipment rentals.

What are your office hours?
Monday thru Thursday 9am-7:30pm, Friday 9am-6:00, Saturday 9am-7:00pm, and Sunday 11am-5pm.

CLASS REGISTRATION

What do I need to do to hold a spot in a class?
Payment (cash, check, VISA or MasterCard) will reserve your space in a class. For students applying for tuition assistance, a fully completed tuition assistance application with requested supporting documentation and a $25 deposit will temporarily hold your space until your application is reviewed.

What are your class fees?
Class tuition for all AcroSports by-enrollment programs is calculated according to the number of hours per week the student is attending, times the number of weeks in the particular session (late enrollment is always prorated). The greater number of hours per week, the less the dollar amount per hour. For example, 10 weeks of an hour-long children's* class might cost $111 ($11.10/hour) while 10 weeks of a 1.5 hour class would cost $162.50 ($10.83/hour). Click here for a chart of our class fees.
*please note: children's and adult classes are different rates.

Can I sign up in the middle of a session?
Yes, pending availability in the classes you're interested in. Your tuition will be prorated for the remaining classes.

Can I pay tuition in installments?
You can arrange to pay tuition in more than one payment if needed; please contact Operations Manager, Jenee Gill to arrange this. You may also want to consider applying for Tuition Assistance; the eligibility for this program is fairly broad.

What are your refund or cancellation policies?
We do NOT offer refunds; if you are not sure your child wants to take a class here or not, schedule a free trial class through the office (415-665-2276) before committing to the entire session. Adults can schedule to attend a paid one-time trial of a class before enrolling. Once you sign up for a class it is yours for the session; you cannot substitute friends or siblings in place of the original registrant.

Why do I have to pay an insurance/registration fee?
AcroSports charges an annual $30 Registration and Insurance Fee for all students in order to subsidize a variety of costs not directly associated with in-class activities. Specifically, these expenses include processing and maintenance of student records and quarterly mailings (registration), as well as liability and accident insurance costs.

Do you offer tuition assistance?
Yes we do; please contact the AcroSports office for details. You can also find a Tuition Assistance application here.

Do you offer sibling/family discounts?
Yes, we offer 10% off tuition for multiple family members, beginning with the 2nd family member, applied to the lesser tuition.

Can I sign up over the phone or online?
On-line registration is available for preschool classes and Kinder-camps ONLY. Click here go to the registration site. Registration for all other classes is on the phone or in person. Schoolage Camps register primarily by mail

What happens if a class closes due to underenrollment?
You can switch to another class that works for you, or request that we issue you a credit or refund.

PRESCHOOL CLASSES

Do you offer trial classes?
Yes, but only in class sections that have space available. You may check availability and schedule a trial class by calling our office.

At what age do you start taking students?
18 months. Our insurance policy does not cover children under 18 months, so you must wait until the day that you child turns 18 months to participate in a class.

Can I leave the building during my child’s class?
No! Parents/caretakers of preschool students must stay in designated viewing areas, within sight of the instructor, throughout the class period.

Can I choose my child’s instructor?
You may inquire as to coaches’ schedules when you register, but all schedules are subject to change before and/or throughout the session. If the coach you would like is teaching one of two sections offered at once, you can request your child to be grouped with that coach at the first class of the session.

Can my child be in a class with their friend?
If they are in the same age group and there is space available, yes.

Do you offer classes on weekends?
Yes, on Saturday & Sunday mornings & early afternoons on Saturdays.

Do you offer make-ups?
Yes. Make-ups are limited to one per class session and do not carry over from one session to the next. Make-ups for preschoolers are offered through a class exchange system; please consult the exchange boards in the office.

What is the maximum number of students for each class?
Tiny Tots: 9
Tootsie Rollers: 6
Tumblers: 8
TumbleStar: 7
Jr. Rhythmic: 7
AcroFitness: 8
Two sections of the same class may meet at the same time with two separate instructors.

Do I need to bring my child or can my babysitter/nanny bring her?
Any parent or caretaker may bring a child to class. Please make sure everyone is familiar with all policies outlined on our registration form, and that we have current phone numbers for all adults who are responsible for the child.

What if my child turns old enough for the next class in the middle of a session?
You can switch to the next class mid-session, pending availability, or wait until the next session to move to the next age group.

SCHOOLAGE CLASSES

How do I know which level my child is?
If your child is new to AcroSports and has no prior gymnastics experience, they are most likely at the IntroStar beginner level. If they have prior gymnastics experience, you may schedule an evaluation with the schoolage program manager, Andre Yee, to determine the appropriate class for her.

How do I know if my child has moved up to the next skill level?
Your child will receive a “Moving Up Form” prior to the coming session enrollment if the head coach has determined they are ready to move to the next level. This is determined by a skill evaluation. A list of all students who are moving up will be kept in the main office during registration. If you have questions about your child moving up, speak with their coach or call and ask to speak with a head coach.

How many students are in each class?
Most schoolage classes have a limit of 8 students per class. Exceptions are trampoline and the various aerial arts, which may have 6 students; and dance and capoeira classes which may have up to 14. Classes with 2 instructors may also have more than 8 students.

Can my child be in a class with their friend?
If they are determined to be at the same skill level and there is space in the class, yes. But as all classes follow a progressive curriculum, students may not be in class together based solely on friendship or schedule convenience.

Do you offer classes on weekends?
Girls and boys gymnastics classes are usually offered on Saturdays depending on the session.

Do you offer make-ups?
Yes. Make-ups are offered in the form of a SchoolAge fundamentals class, and are offered on two or three different evenings towards the end of each session. You may sign up for one make-up per session in the office. Make-ups do not carry over from one session to the next.

Can I leave the building during my child’s class?
For SchoolAge classes, yes. Please be sure to pick your student up on time, or inform the office if you are running late.
